Overview
The Development Manager will help ensure Streetside’s success by managing the implementation of the organization’s annual fundraising plan. The Development Manager will have a passion for Streetside’s mission, a desire to represent Streetside in the community, and should be an excellent writer, communicator, and project manager. The ideal candidate will excel in a fun, fast-paced and flexible environment.
Through the power of storytelling, Streetside Stories values and cultivates young people’s voices, fostering educational equity and building community, literacy and arts skills. This year, Streetside’s five programs will serve over 1,500 youth and 100 teachers. 60% of the students Streetside Stories serves are low-income, 95% are people of color, with many immigrant youth for whom English is a second language. Duties Include
Individual donor fundraising:
? Using the Benevon model to implement a regular schedule of fundraising cultivation and solicitation events.
? Maintaining regular contact with donors through thank you notes, new donor packets, appreciation mailings, etc.
? Maintaining records, files and databases related to individual donor fundraising.
? Creating individual donor solicitation materials and letters.
Grant writing:
? Researching and assessing foundation, corporate and government funding opportunities.
? Writing and editing grants, grant budgets, and grant reports.
? Maintaining grant files, databases and reporting schedules.
? Creating supporting documentation for grants.
Fundraising planning:
? Support board and Executive Director in planning fundraising activities and goals.
? Prepare fundraising reports as needed.
? Maintain and implement fundraising work plans.
The Development Manager will supervise one part time Fundraising Assistant, and work closely with other staff on various initiatives.
Required Skills
Excellent project and time management skills
At least two years’ related fundraising experience at a nonprofit organization.
Impeccable writing skills
Highly motivated self-starter and proactive team member
