Of course, when I told Alia to look at me and smile, she had to strike a nice litter pose. Yep, that's my Alia!
Lawson has so much fun the whole time we're there...
...but as soon as he decides that he is actually finished, that's when he all of the sudden gets really cold and needs his towel
We played in the water at the lake and beach as well. Definitely colder and a bit stinkier as well :-)

We had a fabulous weekend soaking up our very last bit of summer time. On Saturday, Todd took a break from studying and went with us to the Farmer's Market downtown. I've been meaning to go to that one for forever, but hadn't ever made it yet. We enjoyed it all - the music, beautiful fresh produce, tasty baked goods, and gorgeous (& cheap!) flowers that I just couldn't resist. And we've discovered that even though we are growing a salsa garden, it is not growing fast enough for Todd, so we purchased some tomatoes at the market and also made salsa this weekend! Now Todd has firsthand experience as to the actual work (and subsequent clean-up!) that goes into making his beloved salsa, and knows why I don't love making it by myself. It's so much more enjoyable to make with someone else!

Todd was extremely happy to have some salsa on his eggs this morning!
Sunday was also a great day. Todd worked all Saturday night and slept for a few hours while we were at church, and then he sacrificed the rest of his "night's" sleep by spending the rest of the day with us - making cookies, having a special pre-school family home evening, giving the kids Father's Blessings, and myself a blessing as well, and watching a movie with me. Thanks honey, for living off 3 hours of sleep! We really try to take advantage of time together on Sundays (at least the ones he doesn't work!), since it is the only day he doesn't study!
I'll go ahead and give you an update for the next few weeks. Todd's big Physics Boards are 3 weeks from today, so he will be spending every spare second that he is not at the hospital studying and studying. He's also on call most of the weekends, so summed up - Todd will be MIA from the Ebbert household and the kids and I will not see much of him at all (and if we do, it's because I'm not being as supportive of a wife as I know I should be, so I'm going to be trying to be on my best behavior and not ask him to do things with us. If I ask, he will, he always puts us first, always. So I have to NOT ask!) And while Todd is studying and working, I am going to be busting my brain to try to come up with activities and things to distract all the rest of us from his non-presence. That's a hard thing to do when Todd is our favorite person to be with in the whole world. Seriously, we would all be happiest if for some reason Todd didn't have to work and we could all just spend 24/7 with each other. We never, ever get sick of being each other. I hear wives complain all the time about how if their husband is home too much it throws off their schedules and they don't know what to do. We don't have that problem. Any time we have with each other is never even close to being enough. Any activity I do is
always better when I do it with Todd. So it's a big struggle for me to know that we won't get much time together. Just ask him how depressed I got all of the sudden when we were going over our schedules for the next month...
Anywho - so summer's now over for us and today began the new school year!! I'll post pics of the kids a bit later.
